Edwin Tope and the Legacy of Hawkins Hope Ranch

Blanco, Texas

Edwin Tope had a vision when he purchased the ranch in Blanco, Texas.

Surrounded by the picturesque Texas Hill Country, the property was his chance to raise cattle and build a family legacy. Known for his ingenuity, Edwin became a local legend for his creative solutions, like fixing fences with old chairs and dedicating hours to driving across the ranch to eliminate ant mounds.

The ranch thrived under Edwin’s care, eventually becoming a sanctuary not just for cattle but for family gatherings and cherished memories. When Edwin passed the reins to his granddaughter Lisa, she took on the responsibility with pride.

Along with her husband Will and their three daughters—Haley, Faith, and Gillian—Lisa continued Edwin’s work, transforming the ranch into a welcoming retreat.

In 2022, the Hawkins family decided to honor Edwin’s memory while also reflecting their family’s influence on the land. They renamed the property Hawkins Hope Ranch, a name symbolizing resilience, family, and the bright future they envision for the ranch.
